Summary
Barron was a Commodore in the United States Navy. The collection contains correspondence and photocopies of patents issued to Barron by the U.S. Patent Office between July 1816 and October 15, 1837. The correspondence, letter patents and agreements contain information on patents for a rope machine, a hemp spinning machine, a dough kneading machine, a windmill, a machine for cutting corks, a machine for the cleaning and polishing leather, a windlass, a fan, a Prow Ship, an angle-lever-windlass, log construction of ships, a ship ventilator, cast iron blocks for making shells, a plough, bellows ventilation for removing foul air from vessels, a floating dock, a winch, and a new and useful improvement in the washing machines and for mangling clothes.
