Summary
Papers regarding three cases handled by the law partnership of George B. Young and William H. Lightner. They consist primarily of correspondence, affidavits, and legal briefs (1842-1885) regarding George I. Desnoyer's claim to the estate of his father, Stephen Desnoyer of St. Paul. Other letters concern attempts by Andreas Mechwart of Hungary to obtain United States patents for his grain-milling machinery (1880-1885), for which specifications are included; and negotiations by the St. Paul and Northern Pacific Railway Company with the St. Paul, Minneapolis, and Manitoba Railway Company for trackage rights at the St. Paul Union Depot (1886-1887).
