June 13, 2008

The Post-it® Note is the invention everyone thinks they could have done, but here's the guy who did.

Many say "I could have thought of that!" about the popular Post-it® Note. In this podcast we speak with Art Fry, the man who actually did think of it. Fry tells us how his invention came to be when he was working for 3M. He also talks about how playing golf helps stimulate creative thought. And yes, like many of us, he's a fan of that commercial with the squirrel using Post-it® Notes to keep track of the hidden acorns.

A production of the Smithsonian's Lemelson Center. Written and hosted by Paul Rosenthal. Audio production and theme music by Will Eastman. Art Molella, executive producer. Art Fry was interviewed on 20 May 2008 by Paul Rosenthal. Podcast released 13 June 2008.
