In the 1970s, Paul MacCready developed the first truly successful human powered airplanes. He saw the critical need to find innovative solutions to growing environmental and energy-related concerns. In this address at the Lemelson Center in 1995, he speaks of inventive creativity and warns of future conflicts if inventors can't move our world beyond fossil fuels. He passed away on 28 August 2007, at the age of 81.
