Cindy Whitehead conquered the male dominated profession of pro vert skateboarding in the 1970s, becoming one of the only women ever to be featured riding vert in the centerfold of a skateboarding magazine. Since then, Cindy has gone on to coin the term "Sports Stylist," working as a fashion stylist dressing professional athletes for ads and commercials for companies.

Robin Logan was a National Woman’s Championship champion in freestyle cross country and slalom in the mid- to late-1970s. The Logans—Robin and her brothers Brad, Bruce, and Brian—are often considered “the first family of skateboarding.”

Whitehead and Logan talk about their careers, their recent donations to the collections of the National Museum of American History during Innoskate, and their thoughts on skateboarding in American culture.

A production of the Smithsonian's Lemelson Center. Written and hosted by Laurel Fritzsch, podcast program manager. Audio production by Laurel Fritzsch. Art Molella, executive producer. Joyce Bedi, webmaster. Robin Logan was originally interviewed on 21 June 2013. Cindy Whitehead was originally interviewed on 16 July 2013. Theme music is “Toby’s Theme” by Brandon Belman and outro music is “Home” by Brandon Belman, both used with permission. Podcast released on 25 September 2013.
