Most are Melvin Kranzberg's papers, generated in his various roles as an officer of SHOT, but there are also papers of other officers. These records are grouped into subseries on the basis of the functioning of the professional organization of scholars interested in the history of technology. Examples include: Organization period, 1956-1984; Committees, 1959-1989; Correspondence, 1963-1988; Financial records, 1959-1984; Meetings, 1958-1987; Membership, 1958-1984; Newsletters, 1958-1989; Publication of Monographs, 1961-1984; and SHOT Professional Affiliations, 1964-1988. Records of SHOT's journal, "Technology and Culture" 1958-1987; largely those generated by Kranzberg as editor-in-chief of T & C, 1959-1981, arranged into subseries according to editorial and other activities involved in producing the publication.
